Discography

Whether solo, live, or collaborating with other musicians – Tonč Feinig’s CDs showcase the impressive range of his artistic work and captivate listeners and music lovers alike.
In various line-ups and with a range of instruments, Feinig takes his audience on a journey inward – an invitation to enjoy, pause, and reflect.

From Bowie & Dylan to Tonč!

For his concert at the Grenzlandheim in Bleiburg, Tonč Feinig expanded his band impressively: A brass section with members of the RTV Slovenija Big Band, zither soloist Silvia Igerc, and passionate musician Arthur Ottowitz joined the ensemble. This transformed Tonč Feinig & Friends into a ten-piece all-star collective – stylistically diverse and musically top-tier. The program offered an exciting mix: folk songs in both Carinthian official languages, sensitive original compositions, and international classics – from David Bowie to Bob Dylan – all in unique arrangements by Tonč Feinig. An evening full of musical bridges, emotion, and surprises.

The most beautiful form of expanded folk culture.

Songs from Home is Tonč Feinig's touching musical homecoming: Eleven folk songs from Carinthia – interpreted in German and Slovenian, sometimes intimate, sometimes chamber music-like, and sometimes in large ensembles.Together with excellent musicians and special guests, Feinig creates a soundscape of great depth and contemporary diversity. As the arranger of all the pieces, he breathes new color and atmosphere into the songs – reviving tradition, music becoming a universal language that connects and unites cultures in harmony. An album for those who feel their roots but also love openness and change – a sound of “home” that both warms and opens horizons.

Vivacious, playful jazz spirit from the combination of sound & groove.

Home Run – All Is Well captures the pulse of immediate playfulness: powerful swinging grooves, a vintage sound with a modern attitude, and soundscapes full of energy.Tonč Feinig’s Hammond organ meets Lenart Krečič’s saxophone, Gašper Bertoncelj’s dynamic drums, and Teo Collori’s distinctive guitar – the four create a sound full of passion, esprit, and sovereign lightness. All tracks are original compositions by the band members – music that combines personality, creativity, and playfulness. An album for those who want to feel jazz, not just hear it – compelling, grooving, and full of energy.

A rare symbiosis of tradition and improvisatory freedom.

Originally planned as a solo album by Tonč Feinig, Folk Song ultimately became a duo CD – inspired by the extraordinary musical connection with saxophonist Edgar Unterkirchner and supported by their joint performance at CarinthiJA 2020. The duo decided to explore their musical chemistry further in the studio – the result is fourteen atmospheric folk song recordings in the piano-saxophone duo format.

Shine – Light, hope, and inner radiance.

Shine marks Tonč Feinig’s step from instrumentalist to songwriter: With compositions full of depth and vocals, influenced by jazz tradition and vintage sound. The album invites you on a journey through emotional spaces where melody and poetry merge – intimate, expressive, and authentic. Ideal for those who want to hear, feel, and understand music.

Personal, inspired, and with a European jazz feel.

Tonč Feinig Trio 2 opens up jazzy sound spaces full of emotional depth and creative nuance. With piano, double bass, and drums, Tonč Feinig, Robert Jukič, and Klemens Marktl create dynamic interactions – from melancholic-reflective to impulsively improvisatory. Special guest Michael Erian adds saxophone and flute to the trio, enriching the music with additional colors and expressive dialogues. All compositions are by Tonč Feinig; some were composed during his one-month stay at the artist studio in Klagenfurt in Paris. The trio arranges folk songs in its unique way, harmoniously incorporating them into the album.

A moment. A stage. Three voices – and yet one sound.

Recorded live at the Jazzclub Kammerlichtspiele, this album captures the raw energy of a special concert evening. Pianist and composer Tonč Feinig, accompanied by Milan Nikolić (bass) and Klemens Marktl (drums), presents a lively interplay of original compositions, improvisation, and musical depth.

A poetic, rhythmically diverse trio statement – direct, atmospheric, and full of jazz at its best: spontaneous, honest, and alive.

Between mountains and sea, between languages, styles, and longings.

Tonč Feinig and Klausi Lippitsch jointly sketch a personal map in these recordings – marked by southeast European melancholy, the expansiveness of jazz, and the quiet echoes of alpine folk music. The title combines the German "südöstlich" with the Slovenian "morju naproti" – "towards the sea." A double perspective: geographical, emotional, cultural. The pieces tell – without words – of inner journeys: sometimes floating and meditative, sometimes earthy and rhythmically dense.Feinig and Lippitsch bring their individual strengths to the album, freely moving between composition and improvisation, creating music together as an open, dialogical process. This music is a path, a listening to the distance, and a loving tribute to the many influences that have shaped both musicians into who they are today.

A bold, modern jazz project.

Fine Noise was a joint project between Tonč Feinig and Daniel Nösig, active over several years in changing line-ups. With the album Live at Step, they created a live album in the Hammond quartet format that foregrounds energy, groove, and improvisatory freedom. With Mario Gonzi on drums and the charismatic singer Miles Griffith, with whom the band had been closely connected for years, the project found its defining formation. The late Miles Griffith, who passed away in 2025, leaves behind a musical legacy that is still palpable in this recording.

Jazz with edges, corners, and soul.

With Fuzzroom, Tonč Feinig and Daniel Nösig open up new sonic territory – between jazz-rooted grounding, electric energy and improvisational freedom.
Their project Fine Noise brings two distinctive musical voices together for their first joint studio album. Feinig blends analogue colours like the Fender Rhodes with groove-driven openness; Fuzzroom stands for a raw, organic, warm soundthat reimagines jazz beyond conventions.

The music remains grounded in jazz, infused with funk, fusion and soul. Featured guests include leading figures of the European scene – among them Johannes Enders, and the late Miles Griffith, one of New York’s outstanding jazz vocalists.

The tracks emerge as energetic snapshots, rather than polished studio products.

Clear structures combined with spontaneous improvisation and emotional depth.

With Bite, Tonč Feinig presents an intense, multifaceted album that blends the power of jazz with contemporary soundscapes. Together with his well-established quartet – Michael Erian (saxophone), Jens Loh (bass), and Reinhardt Winkler (drums) – Feinig creates an energetic soundscape characterized by the warm, funky sound of the Fender Rhodes. Driven by Winkler's groove and Loh's distinctive bass lines, Feinig and Erian develop a captivating dynamic in their dialogue, elevating their interplay to new heights. The pieces are distinguished by clear, concise structures that allow room for spontaneous improvisation and emotional depth.

On Bite, Feinig crafts a soundscape that is both powerful and sensitive – full of rhythmic energy, lyrical moments, and harmonic surprises. Bite reflects Feinig's ambition to constantly rethink jazz and open up the boundaries between genres – an album for listeners who want to not only hear jazz, but experience it: full of excitement, passion and musical clarity.

Jazz as a living, breathing work of art.

With We'll See, Tonč Feinig presents his first CD production – recorded with a quartet from his student days in The Hague. Together with Michael Erian (saxophone), Jens Loh (bass), and Thorsten Grau (drums), he creates an authentic, energetic soundscape that already reveals Feinig's later musical signature.

His compositions and arrangements of Slovenian folk songs sound fresh, natural, and full of joie de vivre. Lively, rhythmically driven pieces are followed by compositions of melancholic beauty and quiet intensity.

The title We'll See is emblematic of the album's spirit – the free playfulness of the moment, the spontaneous collaboration, and the open dialogue between the musicians.

A vibrant soundscape unfolds between composition and improvisation, blending lightness and depth. We’ll See is an honest, unvarnished jazz debut – full of curiosity, spontaneity and musical openness.
